Situated on a prime waterfront location on the shores of Port Hacking, the brief for this residential project required multiple bespoke window and door framing solutions of superior quality. Drawing on their extensive experience and technical expertise, Wellfix planned and delivered multiple customised solutions including seamlessly joined curved-to-straight panels, fluted glass interior doors, and a unique circular balcony skylight.
With quality the main priority for this client, all materials used across the site were high-end, including those selected to fulfil fabrication needs. Key window and door framing components were sourced from Alspec’s high performance window and door framing ranges.
A key design feature was also the custom-built internal doors, fabricated from steel and fluted glass. The glass enables light to penetrate further into the living spaces to the rear of the building, while maintaining privacy. The same fluted glass was used in the window framing of the west-facing building wall adjacent to the interior stairwell, effectively obscuring the view of the neighbouring property while maximising light.
For the sections of curved glass, leading glass specialist Bent & Curved Glass, a family-owned and operated local business, added their expertise. Doors and windows were accessorised with premium hardware from Halliday + Baillie, which features a flush finish and slimline proportions appropriate for the required aesthetic.
