This heritage-inspired boutique hotel blends historic architecture with contemporary design, and the curved glass elements installed by Wellfix complement the building's unique aesthetic while maintaining the highest standards of quality and finish.
The illuminated glass-clad oval bar forms the striking centrepiece of the revitalised original pub bar space, blending contemporary craftsmanship with a strong reference to the site’s rich brewing history. Designed to honour the building’s past as the former home of the Tooth & Co. Brewery, the bar features carefully selected amber tones that reflect the colours traditionally associated with classic Australian beers. The warm golden hues of the glass evoke the look of iconic brews such as KB Lager, Kent Old Brown, and Reschs, as well as the distinctive glow of beer bottles behind a traditional bar. This thoughtful design approach creates a visual connection between the venue’s modern identity and its historic roots.
The structure itself is a bold combination of industrial materials and intricate glass detailing. A total of 112 individual pieces of both curved and flat glass were custom fabricated and meticulously installed to achieve the finished design. Each glass panel was carefully face glazed into recessed sections of the industrial-style steel framework that forms the structure of both the oval bar and the adjoining reception counter elements located on the ground floor street level. The arrangement of the glass panels follows a patterned layout that enhances the overall visual impact of the installation.
